Believe it or not, the North Star is NOT constant. Because the stars are all moving along their separate paths, the shapes of the constellations shift (very gradually, of course) over time. But it is well documented that during the time of the Romans, the North Star was Thuban (now in the constellation Dragon) instead of Polaris, the present North Star (in the Little Dipper).Does Mitt Romney know about this?
Sorry. This was actually the point of the email:
- The DNC made the mistake of sending me a "Grassroots poll" (and a solicitation for money) in the mail. I promptly used their own business reply envelope to send them back a note saying I was saving my money to donate to Russ Feingold, and hadn't they figured out yet that the "grassroots" want them to stand up and fight? I can't tell you how satisfying it was, knowing they will have to pay 41 cents to open that envelope!
